Children's Precious Prayers!

Dear friends,

I have so much to write you, it is impossible to tell it all. I will attempt an update now :)

Well, the HIGHLIGHT of the day is always a good place to begin:

Bible study today: I told the story of the friends who lower the crippled man into the house where Jesus is. I told the kids that they were all brought together for a purpose and that now they are becoming friends. They can trust Jesus for one another. Founa can pray for Carlandia and Francellot can pray for Daniette.....And do you know what? The kids had a time of laying hands on one another and praying! We were all a mess (we the workers). To see 12 year old with his leg amputated praying for another new 3 year old, Shikira, with her leg also amputated. To see Founa pray that Carlandia's leg grow to match the other... all the kids were lifting up their prayers to Jesus!!! I want to see this continue every day!

Now for some updates:

Shikira: She is 3 and came a few days ago. Her left foot was amputated. Her mother has no husband. She has Shikira as well as a 5 and 1 year old! She is very overwhelmed. Both mom and child are so traumatized that they cry and are afraid at the sight of Shikira's stump when it is not covered with a bandage/sock. With a lot of creativity she is getting used to her little bitty walker and doing better by the day.

Carlandia: She had a spica cast because her left femur(thigh bone) had broken. She did get her cast removed yesterday, but today when walking we noticed that her leg is now shorter than the other. Her leg wasnt set right and now it is a problem. Please join us as we are asking frequently for the leg to get longer. Also pray for her mama. She is so sweet and cried alot today to hear that her child's leg was short. She needs the comfort of Jesus.

Denison: a 3 year old who came yesterday and got his spica cast off. He is very afraid to move his legs. He also seems very sad and withdrawn. He is one of a twin! The twin is fine.

Have I told you of our babies?

Kevin:Born about Dec 15th. He was left at the orphanage just after the quake because parents couldn't take care of him. Parents are having a hard time deciding if they want to take care of him. Dad is supposed to come tomorrow to make a choice. A man from our earlier team, Brandon, really wants to adopt him. But parents' relatives are unsure of letting Brandon and his wife do so. Please pray for this because we want him to have a family!

Jean(John): Born around October. As little as Kevin! But improving soo much! He smiles and has even giggled. Can hold his head up with little trouble. He moves to follow toys and even grabs for things! These are all great mile stones! He still has some wrinkles, but I think he is beginning to chub up! His parents died in the quake and his grandma had retreated to the hills thinking a tsunami was coming. She had no food, so had been spoon feeding him water! He didn't even know how to suck when he came to us! He is my little boyfriend and I am sad if I do not have a 5:30pm date with him each evening.

Mistil: Our 12 year old left lower leg amputee. He goes home tomorrow! I might cry! He is a wonderful boy who has touched my life in ways that I will never be the same again for. We are expecting a leg for him!

Oh goodness, there are soo many to talk about. I cannot remember who I already shared about before.

Oh, Dev: here is the issue. CMH is not taking him. Dminican Republic is our next option, BUT, remember those prisoners that escaped? No passports are being issued until pictures of those prisoners are found so that none of them escape. This makes a problem especially for Dev's dad to be able to acompany her. It's not like America where a child can go alone if necessary. There has to be a caretaker with the child, or they may not get taken care of!

Did I tell you about 3 year old Rudy who needs surgery to his leg? His left leg is out of socket. He was sent somewhere in Haiti and gone for a week. We were told he'd get the surgery there. Turns out they did not have the right supplies, so now he is back. The bad thing is that his mom will not stop him from walking and he is doing more damage every time he walks. Somehoe his muscles are compensating. But he walks of kilter and it is really not good. Pray for a miracle!

Please pray that I get another interpretor. Today was my interpretor's last day. I may just pay him to stay longer just for me! It is nearly impossible to work to the best without him!

On Monday we lose our 2 pediatricians! They have to get back to families and work. I will miss them soo much! They've been such a comfort to have and have done such hard hard work! I think they work the longest hours of all!

"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:5

Much love to you all! Thank you for all the prayers! Kristen, keep writing! I love the prayers, it's like your here!

Thank you so much for the detailed update. it's good to hear from you and to hear your prayer requests.

Jesus, is so good! man! hearing about the children praying for one another and laying their hands on each other is so hopeful. Lord, I pray that you'll continue to call these children to prayer like this after your helpers are gone. I pray that you raise these children up to be disciples for you to their families and friends. Jesus, your kingdom is growing!

Lord, release the miracles in this place.

Shikira: comfort for her and her mom. Show these ladies their identity in you. you have perfect plans for their lives even without a little foot for Shikira. It's so sad, but Lord you make sad things and turn them around to be strengths. This family needs your strength!

Carlandia: Lord, please grow her leg longer. undo the damage of the earthquake and hurried doctors with too many patients and not enough tools. Jesus, these children are laying their hands on Carlandia to have her leg grow back. Lord, show them your powerful and loving hands.

Denison: Father, take away this little guy's fears. show him that he can walk and be free!

Kevin: Father, this story was especially heart breaking. I ask for wisdom for the family of kevin. he needs a family that will care for him and love him. I pray for the best for this little baby boy whether it's to go back to his natural parents or to be adopted. i pray that your will be done in this huge decision. i pray that you'll speak to his natural parents during this heartbreaking time of insecurity. Lord, comfort them and let them know that you're in charge. you have things covered.

Jean: Thank you Papa that this little baby boy has been so strong through these terrible first months of his life. Thank you Lord that he's had a Grandma to take care of him even if it was just to hold him and sing to him. Papa, chubby this baby up.

Mistil: thank you Lord that this strong young man gets to return home. thank you for the healing that you've done in his life in these past few weeks and that you for the impact that he's had on amanda and the other workers. he probably doesn't even realize how special he is. Lord, will you speak to him. tell him the love you have for him. tell him how proud of him you are and that he's your favorite. Father, continue to use Mistil as a light for you. continue to spread your wisdom through this young man.

Devee: Lord, thank you for this little girl and her father that is so loving. Lord, she needs this heart surgery and i ask that paper work doesn't keep her from it. father, you have connections with the people on the inside. Make a way for Devee to get her surgery. Lord, heal her little heart.

Rudy: Father, Rudy needs surgery on his leg and he seems impatient to get back to his normal life. Father, I ask for a miracle for him. give the doctors the right tools to do this procedure. Lord, i ask that you just heal his leg.

Amanda: Father, you are just so proud of your daughter who has been living in obedience, ministering to orphans and widows. Jesus, you love her heart and life is being brought to Haiti through your work in Amanda. Lord, we trust in you for interpreters for Amanda to continue to tell your stories. We trust in you that you'll replenish supplies and energy. we trust in you that you hear our prayers and that you love when we come to you with our heartaches and our praises and even observations. Lord, let this last week that amanda in in the clinic to be a week of the supernatural! we ask for this knowing that you give good gifts. you give the gift of healing. you give the gift of wisdom. you love this.

this morning the Lord showed me James 1: Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

and James 2:5 Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

Lord, raise this nation and these children to be great people of faith and perseverance and wisdom.
in your name, Amen

Amanda, I also wanted to tell you that we had another dr's appointment today and heard that heart beat again. it was so strong and precious. We look forward to hearing it every 4 weeks. i'm trying to feel for the baby, but really haven't felt anything yet, just my own heart beat. and march 29 we find out if it's a boy or a girl!

love you and miss you.

Hi dear friend.
Thanks for posting.
How is Rudy? Any news now that the medical director is there? Did he go to Miami on Monday?

And how is Denison? (Stevenson as I call him)- is he walking yet? is he more active and happy?

And did Kevin's dad show up yet? Any news there?

I could ask questions about every single one but will wait for your posts. I REALLY miss being there.

He who began a good work is faithful to complete it for each one of these children and for each one of us.

Hugs,
Sandra
