Eta dien! (This is the day!)
Today is the day! All the prayers, anticipation and building excitement is at this moment mixed in with a pinch of nervous joy as Bethany and I get ready to board a jet-plane in just a few short hours!
Yesterday I hugged my fam goodbye (at the lively hour of 3am) and flew to D.C. to meet up with Ms. Bethany Good (in pic). We were both so blessed by her loving community here who held a worship and prayer time with and for us. WOW! I am so amazed by the BIG family I have in King Jesus' kingdom! I know we've got prayers covering us from KC to DC to Michigan, Pennsylvania, Hawai'i, Germany...and who knows where else!
Welp, after sour send off from Bethany's friends, the 2 of us had word to do! Sorting through loads of this-and-that for the kiddos and trying to get our 4 bags kept under the 70lb max limit was no simple task! But let me just say the Lord has fit it to the ounce!
Dear friends! We leave you with grateful hearts for all the love you've poured into us. We cannot thank you enough for the way you are holding us in prayer. we are honored to be sent out by you in the Lord's grace!
"You are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and my servant whom I have chose, so that you may know and believe me and understand that i am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me." Isaiah 43:10

Preperation Week
Welp, I am here in Colorado Springs with my darling family, enjoying sweet rest and cherishing my newest little niece, Hazel! I've been gone from KC for just 5 days, but it seems like ages already! Oh dear, I miss you all already and I have not even left the country!
So let me just let you in on what a week before leaving to Africa has looked like....
Days 1 and 2: Playing soo hard with my older 3 nieces (ages 2,4 and 5) that my sister's mother-in-law nicknamed me their "live-in nanny."
Day 3: Cleaning up after the girls left for KC and lounging about the house with Miss Hazel, then going out with my sister and brother-in-law to possibly the best Mediterranean food ever!
Days 4 and 5: Shopping around town with the fam for all the little odds and ends needed for my trip. Man! I found everything on my list without a hitch! Oh, and of course spending lots of time holding Hazel!
All of these days have included yummy food that my sissy and I made together, fun workout videos with sis, enjoying a non-air conditioned house (which I actually love b/c it's never more than we could bare and actually cools off nicely at night)...and all other family things a girl would love to have squeezed in before traipsing off to foreign lands! Plus, the Lord has been filling my heart with songs to him and showing me sweet promises in His word as I gear up! Soooooo EXCITING!!!!
So, I still have days 6 and 7 before I jump on a aero-plane! Take care for now!
